I'll never forget when the show finally came out with a major motion picture. About ten minutes into the movie, a scene featuring Lizzie and her "frenemy" Kate happened and has stuck with me ever since.
"Lizzie McGuire, you are an outfit repeater."
I always wanted to be like Hilary Duff's character - cool, stylish and friendly, plus she had no shame in wearing her favorite outfit more than once. Now at 21, I still find myself thinking back to Lizzie's outfits - her daring hair styles and amazing Limited Too wardrobe. When I get dressed in the morning or when I'm shopping I always remember to wear and buy pieces that I would 100% wear over and over again.
Lizzie McGuire actually taught me a lot of important life lessons. We may never win over the heart of our Ethan Craft, there's a chance you could go to Rome and end up being twins with a famous Italian pop star, and our clothing should be worn more than once, with no shame at all.
This post features a favorite sweater of mine, an amazing leather skirt passed down from my mom's closet and those dream boots I've mentioned before in previous posts. Everything you see in these pictures has been apart of my blog before and I've worn them all on more than one occasion, proudly. I find it fun creating new outfits with older pieces, it helps my look stay fresh, creative and completely personal.
Whether your role model happens to be Lizzie McGuire, Carrie Bradshaw or someone completely different, never be afraid to rock the hell out of your favorite pieces, as many times as you want to.
