A few months ago I shared my bucket list of things I felt important to accomplish while living in Savannah. Since then, I have had a huge outreach of people asking for a list of my favorite things to do. After living here for four years, I've been able to narrow down my list to my absolute favorite places - places and activities I will miss so much once I leave this wonderful historic town.
From restaurants to shopping, below are things that I could do every day for the rest of my life. My four years in Savannah have filled my heart with so much happiness and I wouldn't have wanted to go to college in any other city.
If you are planning a trip to SAV in the near future or it's just another town on your bucket list of life, scroll down to see the places you need to visit when you finally make it down south.
Every weekend you can find my friends and I laying out at Forsyth with magazines, wine and music. A cheap, fun and relaxing pass time in a beautiful park that is always packed with cute dogs and tons of sunshine. On Saturday mornings we hit up the farmer's market and almost every weekend there is some kind of event going on.
Maybe I'm a little bias, but this store rocks. I have been shopping in here since freshman year and am now a proud stylist apart of the Custard team. Tara has a serious gift when it comes to buying unique and beautiful jewelry, accessories and clothing. While my wallet may hate me, my wardrobe has improved immensely since Custard entered my life. Every vacation deserves a shopping trip, so shop local while you're in Savannah and be sure to say hi to the girls at Custard.
It took me way too long to discover how much fun baseball games can be. Grab a good group of friends and head out to the ball game. They have amazing deals like two for one Tuesday and the admission tickets are dirt cheap.
Clockwise, Soho South Cafe, Perch at Local 11 Ten, Zunizi's and Rocks on the Roof at the Bohemian Hotel
These four places are my favorite go-to spots in Savannah.
Soho South Cafe is a dream come true when it comes to lunch spots. They serve unreal tomato soup, the environment is gorgeous and it's right in the heart of downtown.
Perch at Local 11 Ten is an amazing local spot that serves delicious drinks on a roof that is surrounded by spanish moss. I am obsessed with going up there before eating downstairs at Local.
Zunzi's is an obvious destination for those of you who watch the Food Network - featured on Man vs. Food for having the best sandwich ever, the Chicken Conquistador. The line is worth the wait and make sure you pile on the special sauce.
Rocks on the Roof at the Bohemian is the place I go with all of my girlfriends on Friday night. Grab a few drinks, a cheese board and take a shot every time you see a bachelorette party - I promise you'll be drunk within an hour.
Other favorite restaurants:
The Olde Pinke House
The Public Kitchen & Bar
Crystal Beer Parlor
Gryphon Tea Room
My home away from home since October of 2012 and an amazing addition to SCAD.
I took a job as the guest services employee when the museum first opened it's doors a little over two years ago. It was a very sad day when I had to say goodbye, however, the exhibits continue to get better and better. Obviously the art work is a must-see, but the architecture, design and courtyard are all a huge part of visiting as well.
