I love food in general, but when it comes to desserts, I am obsessed. So, it helps that one of my closest friends has a mom who bakes the best desserts in Miami.
LoBee Sweets is a made-to-order dessert company right here in Bay Harbor, Florida.
When I tell you these desserts are great, I'm barely giving them any justice. The original recipes are delicious, creative and worth every single calorie.
Because it is the most wonderful time of year, I felt it necessary to share this incredible brand with you.

LG: I’m Lois Abrams Gavcovich, born and raised here in Miami Beach. I am the owner and founder of LoBee Sweets, LLC where I make made-to-order desserts from specialty cookies to pound cakes to seasonal treats. I also make custom gift baskets and platters for any occasion.
SIS: LoBee Sweets is a made-to-order dessert company. What inspired you to start this fun brand?
LG: Whenever my daughters have their friends over the house, I always like to have food around...we’ve kind of always been known and remembered as the house with all the goodies and sweets. I had my daughters’ friends over around Thanksgiving time a few years ago and they got to talking about how I could turn this into a business. Then my two girls, Amanda and Tara, encouraged me to get it started as quickly as possible before the holiday season rush. “Midnight Lois” was tossed around a bit as the name of the biz but we went with the more sophisticated and catchy LoBee Sweets, a combination of my first and middle names.
SIS: Your desserts are delicious and I’ve been lucky enough to taste test most of them. Where do you find inspiration for new flavors?
LG: I get my inspiration from anywhere and everywhere – some are recipes passed down, some I get from friends or family that I usually tweak. I really get most inspiration from whatever I think my daughters and their friends will like.
SIS: When it comes to role models, who influences you when it comes to baking and getting creative?
LG: I don’t have a role model when it comes to baking but a big influence in life is my mother. She has her own successful business for the past 30 years but she has no idea how to turn on an oven.
"I get my inspiration from anywhere and everywhere – some are recipes passed down, some I get from friends or family that I usually tweak."
LG: No. I’m going to stick to baking.
SIS: What is your personal favorite treat to make/eat?
LG: My personal favorite is the cream cheese pound cake, but the biggest fan favorite is by far the chocolate chip pie. I have a huge sweet tooth myself but what I actually like the most about LoBee Sweets is watching people enjoy what I have made.
SIS: Where do you see LoBee in five years? A store? International takeover?
LG: I hope to see my baked goods and my LoBee label in more local restaurants and stores. International takeover will have to wait for now.
