Savannah is a charming, sleepy city that always calls to me. The town is straight out of an antebellum novel with magical places to discover and so many fun things to do.
As part of our road trip with Toyota, our goal was to hit all of the hot spots in Downtown Savannah. I lived there for four years - which means I already had quite a list of favorite places. Two days weren't really enough, but we did our best and covered lots of territory.
Our day started with late shopping.
Broughton Street in the Historic District of Savannah is constantly growing with new shops, but fab'rik is still a favorite. I scooped up this dress and wore it right out of the store as we headed to Zunzi's for a quick lunch. The chicken conquistador is a must. So delicious, so filling and so worth every single calorie.
From lunch we headed down to the river where I was able to scoop up some world famous taffy and pralines from the Savannah Candy Kitchen for my family. The girls got to experience the cobblestone streets that lead all the way to the river. Heels be damned, sneakers or boots are required for the steep and well-worn paths.
While Savannah may be a 'walking city,' it was super fun to see it by car in our chic Toyota Corolla. All you have to do is roll the windows down, blast some music and it's almost like you're walking...you're just getting to your destination a bit faster.
