For me, every piece of jewelry I've collected throughout my wonderful life represents someone or something I hold dear. Because of this, each piece has its own importance beyond the bling. Every day, I wear two bracelets, one from my parents and the other from my grandparents. These pieces are valued way beyond the precious metal and stones they contain. Of course, aside from sentimental value, I also love opportunities to acquire pieces from artists I've met and with whom I've crossed paths. Karen Kriegel is one of of those artists.
Karen and I went to SCAD together. We actually met in our Intro to Metals and Jewelry class. As much fun and as challenging as that class was, my career has taken me in another direction away metal work and accessory design. Karen, on the other hand, has gone on to create imaginative, incredible, one of a kind pieces that I simply cannot get enough of. Her work is original, nothing like I've seen before. I'm so excited to share a few of her fabulous pieces in today's post!
